Pittsburg? Antioch? The boundary is blurred. The food and service at the "East County" Olive Garden is not. Italianos, "nose in the air," self-proclaimed aficionados, disdain Olive Garden as not "real" Italian food. For us non-Italians, the food is satisfying, delicious, belly-warming and if it's not your grandmother's Sunday dinner menu, so be it.
My recent experience at the Pittsburg/Antioch Olive Garden was made even more satisfying by the server, Luis. I could tell immediately that he was experienced by his "serve to the right, take from the left" knowledge. Wow! An experienced waiter! That is uncommon in today's culture. Luis was attentive, personable and accommodating. Waitstaff does not come better than Luis. He should give lessons!
Recommendation: If you encounter Luis, tip him generously.
